Hi people
Im new to my fitness pal and this is the first time I've tried to lose weight properly. I have started running following a program to get up to 30 mins and i do this with some other exercise three times a week. My daily calorie goal is 1500 ish. My question is basically how long do you think it will be till I start noticing weight loss, I've heard that when you first start exercising you put on weight from muscle build up.

Don't be impatient. Take it slow and you will see the results will last forever. :drinker:0

If you are overweight by quite a lot and you follow a good diet and exercise program you will likely see results very quickly, in the first week or two. You will be amazed at how easy this is! Losing weight is amazing! Simple! Effortless!
And then... you hit your first plateau. Your weight won't budge, your body has caught on to your game is is rebelling. That's when you get serious, read everything on here that has the word "plateau" in it and commit yourself to this wonderful new lifestyle.
Don't let me scare you, just have fun with it, and stay motivated, it's a marathon not a sprint. It WILL work if you commit to it.
