High Intensity Martial Arts

Even when a session seems to be lower intensity, we work our butts off (((literally))), my question is this:
Is martial arts a workout that would require a protein pickup at the end of the workout? I eat almond butter on a plain rice cake an hour before I go to a session, I usually have a dinner with protein afterward, is this an okay plan so far? Do I need a protein shake? I usually have one immediately after on lifting days...Thanks for any info!!

If your muscles are sore and you worked them hard you may want some whey isolate as this is easily digested and gets to the muscles. Hope the class is fun.0
