this might be a stupied question but....

salad...there are a milion variations so in calculating calores for a simple homemade salad...lettuce..cabbage..carrots..brocolli..cauliflower..bell pepper..cucumber..red onion...just basic ingredients...any amount is ok? 1 cup or 2 or 5....any amount of raw veggies is ok?

    If it is raw veggies, since they are healthy you should not worry about calories unless you're putting high calorie food on to your salad such as avocado, nuts, dressings. I suggest making a salad and estimating it to be a certain amount of calories lets say 150 since lettuce, carrots, cucumber are all minimal caloric amounts

    I am careful with the dressing...no nuts and usually no cheese. I like to eat a LARGE salad tho...trying to fill up before the "real" food...but so many of the choices for salads are a wide range of calories.
  • adding nuts and cheese are a good way to add protein. don't discount them totally, just add a small amount
