clothing....which size to pick!?!?

I have noticed I am able to start gettin back into some of my smaller clothes which excites me although I dont have much in the way of smaller sizes. I donated alot of my clothes when I started gaining weight because I thought I had no choice but to accept I was gaining and the diets I had tried didn't work for me. But now I have found MFP and I have realized that was a horrible way of thinking. I have a handful of jeans I will be able to wear and all that so thats good...

I have gone to the mall and bought some new shorts to get me by until I can slim down into my others and things like that but I've realized a new problem...I don't know what size clothes to buy if I go out and find something cute (For example I've got an obsession of buying concert tshirts and I've got two coming up soon). Do I buy what fits now (which is kinda baggy) or go down a size knowing it will fit in just a couple weeks? Or do I save buying smaller sizes after I have accomplished my goal? (Altho the smaller size could be my incentive to keep going til I get to my goal)

I've been wearing medium size tshirts but the smalls that I have kept from my college sorority days are starting to fit again. They are still a little tight but I wouldn't be afraid to wear them in public.

What do you all do?

    I'd say get the Smalls.
If Mediums are getting baggy and you're still losing weight, there's no reason to have the baggy stuff.

I am 3 sizes down since Jan 3rd, so NONE of my clothes fit. I am buying cheap supermarket clothing to get me by and when I reach goal in November will max the credit card! yeah

Personally, I like my shirts to be a little baggier, so I'd stick with the medium, but you do what's comfortable to you.

I'm in the same boat! (I have a lot more sizes to go through though before I hit goal lol). So far I'm just buying a few things here and there that fit me NOW and trying to avoid spending a ton. I have a couple things in a smaller size but I also gave away all of my other clothes that don't fit me (mostly because I didn't have space to store them). The way I look at it though is that when I lose more weight I have the opportunity to have a cuter wardrobe haha

I'm awkwardly between sizes right now, and I buy the smaller of the two. I feel confident enough at this point that I'll keep losing, and there's no point in buying clothes that aren't going to fit me after a few weeks.

In the past my decision and attempt to start weight loss is usually preceded with me seeing something while out shopping - something that will not fit me. I have bought a few things that are deliberately too small for me as a motivaton to get in shape. Funnily enough I have a band tshirt that I'm aiming to get into which means dropping two sizes. I have it at the front of my clothes so that each morning, it's something to motivate me while I'm getting dressed.

I'd go for the small sizes, if they're starting to fit again... then soon they WILL be a perfect fit :)

Gah! I'm in the same place - I have stuff that's way too baggy and falling off and stuff that is too tight and I'm not comfortable in it yet in public.

I would go with the smaller size for your concert t-shirts, you're going to have those for a while. I'm doing a lot of clearance rack shopping for now and getting 3-4 things that fit me pretty decently now to tide me over.

It's a great problem to have - better than when all my fat clothes were way too tight!

I'd go with the smaller sizes. I went to a U2 concert a couple of years ago and bought a large shirt. I was pregnant at the time and was willing to save it until I had my baby. Little did I know this shirt company's idea of a woman's large is the equivalent of a medium/small everywhere else. I just wore it for the first time the other day. Was I a little bummed that I wasn't able to wear it immediately? Yes. Am I glad I can now wear it forever without it being too big? Definitely.

I'd go with the smaller size and don't throw it in the dryer. Instead hang dry it. When it gets a bit too big, then start throwing it in the dryer and viola! it fits again.
