FAT (the dietary kind)

How bad is it? I have been tracking for 6 days and every single day I am great under/right at calories, low in carbs and sugar, but way over on fat (like 10 to 40 grams over). I know much of it is not "good" fat - I can't find a way to lighten my coffee that doesn't have some terrible drawback (milk = sugar, cream = more fat, artificial creamers = well I won't even go there) so I am using half and half and it adds up. Most of the other fat is from flax, eggs, coconut oil, salad dressing, meat and cheeses - not a huge amount of any but they all add up. Thoughts?

Dietary fat is really good for you. If it's mostly from healthy sources like it sounds like yours is, and it isn't causing you to go over in calories, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Obviously my answer would be very different if you were getting your fats from fried food and canola oil, but that does not seem to be the case. Carry on!

Thanks for the input. I wish I could free myself of that half and half fat and calories but I really love my morning coffee and have never been able to drink it black!

Keep it if you like it! The acidity of black coffee bothers my digestive system...I would rather have some half and half than munch on tums.

Have you had your cholesterol checked? If your body is not prone to high cholesterol, then I personally would not be that worried about it. Being a little over on dietary fat and/or cholesterol is not that big a deal if the food sources are generally healthier (nuts, olive oil, avocado, etc) and your body is not trying to directly absorb much of it.

As for the half and half in your coffee, try to make gradual changes to reduce the amount or transition to 2% milk (or even fat free). I drink coffee everyday and have had to slowly reduce both the amount of sugar (was 8 packets at one time, now 3) and milk (very little 1/2 n /12, normally 2%, now 1/4 cup of fat free) in my morning 16oz coffee.

Why? Dietary cholesterol and serum cholesterol are largely unrelated in most people. If the OP is meating thier calorie targets and eating healthy fats including half and half, there is no need to make any change gradual or not. The same would apply to you unless you are having trouble meeting your calorie goals.
