Bruises and Compression Pants

I've always worn compression pants to run. I wear a capri that goes about mid-calf. I will use them for recovery, but under a dr recommendation, I have generally ran my long runs in them. I don't have any circulation issues, but dr felt it would be best as I do have sciatic issues.
I have sometimes gotten these weird unexplained bruises on my shin. They are quite painful bruises, and go away in a day or two. Well today, when running my long run, I noticed the bruise "developing" it was tingy painful. It was right at the bottom of my capri. It was actually hurting - about mile 13 and I had 7 to go.
I pulled the pant further up my leg and went on. That seemed to fix the problem. But, when done, I still have that painful shin bruise.
Has anyone else experienced this when running in compression capris. Over the winter, I wear compression socks with them too, the Injinji ones and have never had a problem. But todays run was in the high 70's low 80's so I know that would be too warm.
I "know" the obvious solution would be - don't run in them - but I'm more looking for a Why would this happen more than what the fix is. I will probably stick to using them for recovery for the remainder of the summer.
