How do I breakup with my trainer?
I met my trainer about 10 months ago and I must say that he has totally transformed my body. We became really cool friends, we talk on the phone all the time and he adds in free training sessions sometimes. He convinced me that I was good enough to compete in bikini bodybuilding and I won 4th place. Now here's where the problem comes in: I met his old trainer at the competition and his girl won overall bikini. boy did she have a body on her! He then friended me on Fackbook and asked when can he train me! Now that I'm hooked on this new lifestyle of competitions, I want to win and all this trainer girls win in the competitions and I want to have a better chance at winning overall too. I've already started training with the new trainer but i'm keep cancelling with my original trainer. I don't know how to break it to him. What should I say?

be honest with him...he will most likely find out anyway and as a trainer I would expect my clients to be honest with me so I can improve or find a way to continue to work with them and the new trainer. just my thoughts0

Hi. Before I read further and saw that you had already met a new trainer I would have just said use the financial excuse of it's too expensive but that won't work. I have a lot of friends who compete in figure, bikini, fitness and bodybuilding and it's a small world considering at the comps you will tend to see the same people depending on what area you are in. In this case the truth might just be the best. You want to try something new, diet and exercise, for your next comp to see what will happen. Good luck! 4th place for your first show is excellent!0

Oh, Honey, if he's your friend, you need to tell him the truth. That's all there is to it. You've gotta say, "I love you and I'm so grateful for all you've done for me, but I need to switch things up a bit and I'm training with this other guy now. I never could have gotten here without you, but I feel stuck and need a change. You're amazing and I wanted to make sure you heard the truth from me, because you deserve that." He's going to find out eventually, anyway, so better to hear it from you than someone else.
If he's not really your friend, you can make up some kind of lie -- or just let it go like it is and let him find out through the grapevine. But I know you don't want to be a coward. Sometimes the right thing is the hardest. You can do it.0 -
I would say be honest but it really isn't all his fault... If you want to be pushed harder then you should tell him that. It isnt all the training but you get what you put into it as well.
I would say if he cant push you to your limits get a new trainer. If he can but you dont want him too then a new trainer is not going to solve the problem. Trainers only tell you what to do and you are the one doing the work. Just be honest with him and ask him if he can get you where you want to be.0 -
Yes, Even if I don't tell him myself, he will find out because the New trainer used to train the trainer that I have to break the news too. I've already ran into other bodybuilders that know my original trainer while I was at the other the other gym training with the new trainer. The are both bodybuilders and they compete at the same competitions. I do own him that (for him to hear it from me) Boy do I feel guilty now; but I should've that of that before.0

Just tell him the truth...you want to win and think you will have a better chance with the other trainer0
