wine drinkers: I use a carafe to measure

I measure out my wine and then bring the carafe with me to the table and put the bottle away. It's much easier to enjoy wine within my "limits".
Does anyone else measure it out? I was using a measuring cup, but my dear hubby bought me a nice carafe lol.

    This!

Insert straw, drink up and enjoy. Work my butt off twice as hard the next day

If I didn't drink with dinner most nights, I might just do this. But the extra 550 calories (in a bottle) would be tough!

Love my wine and measure each and every ounce. I think wine is the main motivation for working out everyday! :drinker:

I use the same wineglass all the time, and it has an etched puffin on it. Because I verified it with a measuring cup, I now know that when the puffin's belly is half-full I have a 5 ounce pour. :)

It seems after the glass of wine, my willpower is not so great. Good for you!

Most brands of wine are in the MFP database. If the specific brand you are drinking isn't, the type of wine should be there, and that'll be very close.

If the actual type isn't there, I've found that almost all wines are in the approximate range of 110-130 calories for a "standard" 5 ounce serving. Call it 25 calories an ounce and you'll be pretty close unless you drink a lot of wine. Very high alcohol wines like port or high-sugar wines like mead might be in the 30-50 calorie per ounce range.
