How do you calculate the nutritional info in your recipes? For example, at work we serve fresh made lemonade, which is 1 oz of fresh lemon juice, 1 cup of ice and about 2 cups of suger water. How could I calculate the calories in one of these drinks?:drinker:

you'd have to know how much sugar was used in the 2 cups of water, then you could enter 1 ounce lemon juice, then the amount of sugar, then save it as a meal and you'd know the nutritional info for the whole two cups. If you only drank one cup, then you could list half of the "lemonade meal" as your beverage.

I've done some recipes by listing all the ingredients and saving the whole thing as a meal and then entering the right fraction of the whole recipe that I ate.
  • Lemon juice + sugar water (how many tsp in each cup x 2) divide by number of servings=

i'm not sure how to figure it out still lol we use one bag of sugar and mix it into an entire bottle of water (like the kind you get for a water cooler)
  • How many lbs of sugar to how many ounces of water? The '2 cups of sugar water' are these a measured 8 fl oz's ?

    If it's a water cooler bottle. I believe these contain 5 US gals....128oz in a gal X 5 = 640oz.

    If it's a 5lb bag of sugar: 567 tsp per bag (15 cals per tsp) 567 x 15 = 8505

    8505 / 640 = 13.29 per oz. of sugar water

13.29 x 8 (oz) = 106.32 per cup of sugar water.......if that is the ratio of water to sugar

Here is the recipe calculator that I use

    http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php?process=resubmit&count=15

But you will have to know the amounts of everything and how many servings.
Then you can add it into MFPs food data base. Name it your name for the brand so you'll always be able to find it.
