I'm sooooo very sorry you guys!!! It's been a rough couple of days. :frown:
I got laid off at the end of the day Monday and its just been busy with looking for jobs, filing for unemployment, etc. Not to mention I've been sleeping 10-12hrs a day. Too much!
Time to get back into a normal routine and get my life back together!! Missed you all!0 -
Ahhh, I'm so sorry about your job Rach.0
-
It seems that more and more people are getting laid off. Rach, I hope you find a job and it all works out!:flowerforyou:
Do we have a challenge this week?0 -
Rach so sorry to hear about your job loss. I work in HR and if you are sending out resumes i would be happy to take a look and let you know any suggestions, just let me know. I try to help anyone I can these days.
Great job blues I have now made it 4 days without any after dinner snacking. YOu have now idea how tough that is for me. I need a challenge this week, any ideas?0 -
Good job ladies!
Rach--sorry to hear you got laid off. I've been "temporarily" laid off since December. It's not as stressful because I don't have to look for a job and all that. It'll will all work out, though. Good luck to you.0 -
Rach- I'm sorry to hear about your job. Good Luck on finding a new job.
I don't know what to do for a challenge this week. I need to get outside and start exercising however. I was going to do it lastnight however that didn't happen. Its been kinda cold here. Burr. I think we are in for an early winter.0 -

Are you serious?
It's 105 degrees where I live.
Wooh, my mom and I are going for a bike ride today. I convinced her to do it with me.
Maybe this would be a good time to bring up that I want to do the C25K. (She's a bit paranoid about me doing any "strenuous" exercise).0 -
BTW, has anyone noticed how we can't log food today.
Nothing's coming up in the database.
Uber frustrating.0 -

Ya, it's kinda strange!! It's like if it isn't in your frequently used list you can't pull it up... guess the site is being adjusted or something... I'll just try to behave in the meanwhile!!
Rach, sorry about your lay off. I hope that things work out for you. It's good to have you back though!
I am having such a problem with late night snacking. I have calories left over for my Orville 100 cal bag of popcorn, but I know that eating it at 8 or 9 pm is just not great!! That's the only suggestion I have for a challenge.. anyone else??0 -

It's almost like all the food has been wiped from the database. My saved meals are gone too.
And late night snacking.... uh oh.
I'm going to bed around 1-2 AM these past few nights, but I've been eating as last as midnight.
Is that bed for me?0 -

I've heard that you shouldn't eat anything 2-3 hours before bed time & I think hmo4 has mentioned definately no carbs!! Maybe she can chime in & share her knowledge on this one.
- I had't noticed the saved meal were missing too!! Dang!!0 -

Oh, dang. Haha... I've pretty much been eating throughout the day. Still under calories... Still specific meals... just a lot of snacking between.
Thankfully it's all back now.

I have been trimming trees and hauling branches all day, how many calories do you think that burned. I forgot to wear my HRM. Man do i hurt. I have been working really hard for no snacking after dinner. It has been incredibly hard to do but i am going on 4 days now.
Here is a story. Went grocery shopping today and the whole cookie aisle was on sale. I picked up some fudge strip cookies, thinking my daughter will like these. I put them in my cart and 5 steps later i said to myself, who am I kidding i am going to be the one to eat these things and i don't need them. If i don't need them neither does my daughter. Back on the shelf they went. I also did not buy any M&M's even though they were on sale and I LOVE them as my after dinner snack.
I am very proud of myself today.0 -

It's the small steps.0 -
Rach - so sorry about your job. You are strong - use your strength for confidence and you will get a better one than you had!!0
-
Rach - sorry to hear about your job!! I know how stressful that can be. Maybe your body was needing that rest!! Good luck with the job search!!
Alapointe - good job avoiding those cookies and M&M's!! :flowerforyou:
I went out Saturday night with a friend. Neither of us had really gotten out and socialized in a long, long time. I had a bit too much to drink. I haven't gotten drunk in almost a year... and this time, my body totally wasn't ready for all that! I ended up getting sick at her house and praying to the porcelain god for a while. Ew. :noway: Never again. I'm getting too old for that... lol
On the plus side, we got out and had fun, met some new people and got invited to some different events. Should be interesting!0 -

Rach - so sorry about the news. I hope that you're able to find something quick that will be bigger and better.
Chrissy - WOW hot mama! How fabulous to see the progress visually like that. You are awesome.
Well, I fell off the wagon due to an emotional/stressful weekend of eating. I knew what was going on, but didn't use any of my tools to make a change to my behavior. No excuse except I fell back on my old habits and ended up feeling worse for it.
I think I really need to rededicate myself to this effort. I'm the lowest one on the chart having lost the least amount of weight and I'm embarrassed by that So I'm going to chalk this week as far as weighing in goes and start fresh today (of course if I lose I'll post it). Obviously whatever I'm doing isn't working and I want to have a success story like so many of you on here. I know I can do it, I just have to set my mind to it.0 -

All I can say is WOW, what an inspiration you are too many of us here. That is amazing to see that transformation taking place.
AZ- hang in there, you can do it, this week will be a new start for you and we will see those numbers move in the right direction again. Now go drink some water.:drinker:0 -
Hi guys. Chrissy-you're gorgeous! Way to go, I'm so proud of you!
I took pics this weekend, so will post a couple soon. Speaking of this weekend....I was naughty. But, it's all done, and I'm pleased to have a new start today. Latly I haven't been hungry for breaky, what do you guys do? The thought of eating makes me sick right now actually. VERY RARE! Anyway, I'm very tired from a busy last couple days, but will get some sort of exercise in today later. I start work tomorrow-eeeek.
As for the carb issue in the pm. Eating carbs later in the day and eve (besides veggies), has them as energy fuel, and when the body's metabolism is slowing down-most people aren't as active in the eve- they will be stored to fat for another time for energy usage. Carbs is your primary fuel. When you are going to be active in the day is your best time to fuel up. When it's a less active time, protein and good fats are your best bet. But, before a workout, complex carbs with protein is the best because then you'll have the energy to workout, and it digests slower for a longer amount of energy fuel available. Post workout, carbs are best to refuel energy, with protein which is needed to repair the muscle.
I'll keep you posted with my day later....0 -
I can't wait to see your pics.
Breakfast for me is typically oatmeal with some brown sugar and side of fruit
or
nutrigrain waffles with egg beaters on side
or
thomas better start english muffin with egg beater and a bit of ham (my version of an egg mcmuffin but it tastes so much better)
the waffles are like a treat with the lite syrup!0 -
Oh my god.
My dad came home from fishing yesterday.
And he brought home the leftover mini doughnuts, cookies, trailmix, and junk they were eating on the ship.
It was all sitting there in full view.
And I screwed up my sugar for today and had two poptarts.
:grumble:
But I'm starting the C25K in a few minute, we'll see how it goes.0 -

Thanks - I was pretty amazed when I put the pictures next to each other.0

Chrissy--You look amazing!! Hard work really does pay off. Congratulations!
Mondays are my weigh in days. I weighed in at 158.8 this morning!!! This is the first time in 6 or 7 years I've been 150 anything. I was a bit excited. Then, I went to TurboKick and one of the girls called me Skinny......which I know I'm not, but I still didn't mind hearing it. :P
I hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!0 -

Hey! I started C25K today too! I did day one. I did skip one running interval, but kept up otherwise. Maybe we can be each other's cheerleaders with water cups rather than pom poms :drinker:0 -
chrissy - you. are. amazing. :flowerforyou: Those pix were beautiful - no matter what weight! But, you look so happy in the 75 pounds lost one. And healthy.
hmo4 - for breakfast, I have 1 cup of Fiber One Frosted Shredded Wheat and a tablespoon of Simply Jif. Yummy! It's not a huge breakfast, but it fills me up, tastes good and gives me energy.
for those of you doing the couch to 5K program... :drinker: I'd like to start it a little later on in my weight loss. I have tried doing interval jogging on the treadmill, but... it's a little bit painful, actually. :noway: My body isn't good for running just yet.
Does anybody have the Hungry Girl's 200 Under 200 recipe book? I *almost* bought it, but the $20 price tag has me kind of set back. I did see one of their recipes that I thought looked good, though... and I looked it up online... and found it! BBQ Mango Tilapia. I tried it over the weekend and am having it for dinner all week. I added more mango than it called for, used honey in place of molasses and doubled the recipe. I have either a little rice or corn with it and I it! It was a quick, cheap recipe. :drinker:
What's the challenge for this week??0 -
Thanks - I was pretty amazed when I put the pictures next to each other.
Well you do look amazing! Thanks for being so encouraging on this site--between you and sani--who could fail??
I think the challenge should be no after dinner snacking this week.0 -
Sounds good to me! :drinker:
Ya know... I am becoming a huge fan of push-mowing... :laugh:0
