It is hard, but it is also doable. I am a mom of 5 so I know finding time to do it is difficult. A few suggestions I have is to maybe get up an hour earlier and try to do a morning workout. Even 30 minutes would be sufficient. Another is to do as little as walking during a tv program. When I first started my new life, I would walk in place during a 1 hour show and jog, do jumping jacks, or jump imaginary rope during the commercials. Any movement you can get in during the day is going to benefit you. I was lucky enough to find a gym membership at a very low rate plus a low monthly rate for the childrens area that my youngest daughter can go to while I work out. I understand you may not be able to afford that but if you can find one at a low fee I would suggest it. Other than that, how far is the kids school? Is it close enough to walk to? Try walking to places that are close enough that you might normally drive to. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want to maybe brainstorm some more ideas.
