Welcome!! Not quite sure what you consider a 'newbie' - I just joined in April of 2012. I feel like a newbie too!
Give yourself some time to adjust your calorie intake. That's what I did for the first week- I needed to see what habits needed to be broken. Slow changes made it easier for me. First thing I gave up was soda. Even though I drank lots of diet soda, my aim is to eat more whole foods and less processed foods. Next, I began to add more fresh fruit and veggies to every meal and trying to eat on a schedule (I'm a teacher and director of a small private school, so that's not always possible). Then I cut out wine (I love wine), but I wanted to add bettter calories to my diet. Recently, I've been making iced tea using hearbal tea bags. It's so good, and counts as water!!!! And that's my next goal - to increase water intake.
So, see? I've been slowly making changes. I've also been walking at least 2-3 times per week, but the distance is increasing. That's another goal, to get up to 3-4 times per week.
Good luck. You'll find lots of support here! I have!0 -
