Totally new to exercise + weight loss- help?

So I'm trying to work myself up to a 5K~ I'm doing C25K. Which is going great- however I notice on days that I actually do the 5K training twice, once in the morning and once in the evening my weight is always up the following day~ can any of you experts that have been doing this a while help me to figure this out? I've googled around some~ and not sure what to believe and not to believe~ thanks so much for any advice and I hope everyone has a great Monday!

  • When you stress your muscles with exercise, etc, they retain water to use to repair themselves, which will cause your weight to go up. Drinking some extra water on those days will help but won't eliminate the weight going up. Just remember it's not fat, just water, so that's a good thing. Hope this helps.

Unless you are "carbo loading" or eating more than your TDEE the day of the runs, it's very likely water weight. And maybe you're pushing too hard by doing 2 runs in one day. Generally, it's not recommended to try to increase your running distance/time too quickly since you raise the risk of overtraining and injury.
