I survived my first weekend without the cake and ice cream

I survived!!! On Friday, I made a post that I would sabotage my entire week by eating ice cream and cake Friday-Sunday. Well this was the first week in a long time that I had the self control and the will power to say NO! I realized something through reading the responses. My cake and ice cream are solely emotional treats. I will confess that I went to the "table" on Sunday night, but it was so un-appealing that I was able to walk away. I made another stride, whenever I go to Whole Foods, I usually pick up a couple of cookies from the $9.99 lb cookie bar and pick up something off of the hot bar. Once again, I survived. I realize that these have nothing to do with actual cravings, but emotional habits, that must be broken. I even strayed away from the Oh So Good Cornbread from Whole Foods. I am such a bread lover.
OK my rambling. I realize also that I really need to work on building up a sufficient calorie deficit before "splurging" and also, if and when I do have cake and ice cream, it won't be under habitual impluses. And treat my week with something other than Cake and Ice Cream! Still working on that!
Yay Me!!!

It's all about learning to tell yourself no. Soon it won't even phase you! Healthy food can be just as yummy and you feel so much better after eating it!0

Thanks for the inspiration! I struggling with eating too many sweets. Some days I can go without and then some days I cannot stop eating them.0

That's great. I know a lot of people will say "you should still eat cake and ice cream if you want" but if you have problems with food control (I DO), gaining confidence that you CAN say "no" if you have to is extremely important. You made serious progress0
