Goals for June

I'm trying something new to me this month and setting 10 mini-goals for myself. Do you guys do this? If not, let's do it together! You can see all my goals and follow my progress on my blog: http://mandakaymakesit.wordpress.com:

1. Log 100 miles. Run, walk, swim, bike…or even crawl. Whatever it takes.
2. Lose 15 lbs. This may be a stretch, but why not try?
3. Drop 1 pant size. I haven’t even tried on new pants since January.
4. Take 10 spin classes.
5. Drink 1 gallon of water each day.
6. Drink 1 soda/alcoholic beverage per week.
7. 1 trip to the grocery store. Financial and physical health!
8. Take 1 yoga class. I’ve always felt too big for yoga.
9. Run 1 mile continuously. I’ve never measured my continuous distance.
10. Complete 15 2.5-a-days. AM, PM, and a light nooner.

  • Those goals sound amazing. It sounds like you are very dedicated  I have some goals of my own. They are not that indepth.

    My goals for June are:

    1. Exercise everyday
    2. Finish weeding the back yard
    3. Loose the almost 10 lbs I gained over the last month.
    4. Feel better about myself before going to San Diego
    5. Stay within calories
    6. Get back on treadmill
    7. Run a mile without passing out
    8. Try to drink water instead of soda  I hate water
  • By the way, I meant to ask you what does goal #10 mean?

    1) Run a 5K on the treadmill (done)
    2) Run 2 miles at camp - Camp is outside, dirty, hilly, and rocky
    3) Run a 10 minute mile
    4) Try not come under my net for the day by more than 100 calories at least 20 days
    5) Get under 190 lbs (currently 192.5)
    6) Fit into my underdog shirt - This is a bit of a long shot for June. It's a medium and depending on style I'm in either Large or XL for shirts. Definately by the end of July.
    7) Run a 5k run not on the treadmill - Just need to find flatter ground than say Camp to give this a try. I did sign up for a 10k for July 3rd because I'm a nitwit

I can only come up with 7
  • I wouldn't label yourself as a nitwit for signing up for a 5k. I've signed up for some close to the date of the 5k. Of course, I basically walked those. I do have a goal of running a 5k but I just started back to doing any kind of exercise since the last 2 months  I have heard that the couch to 5k has been very helpful and beneficial to a lot of people who have tried it

Good luck with your goals

It's a 10k that I signed up for on July 3rd. I get to run though the giant inflatable Patriots helmet that the players come out through and the across the 50 yard line in Gilette stadium. Serious geek out moment for me. But I'm asking myself to double my current runs for this.
  • July 3rd is still a month away. I'm sure with training and discipline, you can do it!

    Good luck!

    Thanks

My ultimate goal was to be ready for the warrior dash on September 15th. It's a 5k with some hellish obstacles sprinkled in. This is longer but I don't have to climb any rope walls or jump through fire (though that's COOL). I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to be running down the field in Gilette and through the giant Helmet. I'm attempting to add distance with each run between. I'm running a 5k on my cardio days (4 days a week) right now and a mile on my weight days (the other 3). I should be up to 10k by July but that's on a treadmill. Outside running is going to be... interesting for that kind of a distance, I'm sure to be sprinkling in a liberal amount of walking to the 10k. I'll be happy if I'm 60/40 run walk and estatic if I'm 75/25 run/walk for the 10k

I'm not as committed to working as I should be, so #10 is drawing on my high school athletics days where we did two-a-days--two workouts a day, morning and night. I'm adding to this by throwing in a .5 (can't get too sweaty during work! :)) workout during my lunch break--a quick walk, some free weights, etc.
  • Oh, okay. Thanks! Good luck with the 2 workouts a day

    4) Try not come under my net for the day by more than 100 calories at least 20 days (we shall see)
    5) Get under 190 lbs (currently 190)
