potato chips
i am obsessed with cooking shows, and i rarely make what i see on them. but this morning, i was watching license to grll. and this man, grills every food imaginable.
so, he made potato chips today!
what you need
potatoes
oil, (i used evoo, you can use anything though)
baking sheets, or something to lay the potatoes to so they won't stick to each other during transfer
bowl, or something to put your potatoes in
you take your potato, i imagine you can do this with any potato...including sweet! which i will try next time...you slice the potato thinly, it helps if you have a slicer tool thing. so wash the potato, slice it thinly, now pop it into boiling water, not for too long. what i did, put the water on, slice the potatos and drop em in as you go. wait 2-5 minutes, and put them on your baking sheets, just for easy transfer. salt and add some oil of your choice, not too much, just a drizzle!
apply to your bbq! make it at a low temp though, although i found it wasn't working as great, so i raised it.
turn as they brown, put em into a bowl. season immediately again cause he said the heat helps the seasoning stick. i just used salt.
this was the most fun recipe i have ever achieved, and they look and taste great. 3 small potatoes made me a big bowl of chips!

but you know these are healthier chips than ones you buy at the store...though i don't know how long they last. or if i should refrigerate them...since they are potatoes that are cooked!0 -
This is great! Thank you for the recipe!
I've found that I have to be 'rea'l. I'm trying to eat as 'clean' as I can, but there will be times when snack foods are not only appropriate but welcome. This is a GREAT alternative! Thank you!0
