Basic cardio for beginners?

Anyone have any idea about basic cardio moves for beginners? I'm just starting out (had signed up for this profile on my iPod and forgotten about it until today) and really need the movement.
I'm doing a lot of cleaning throughout the day in the house I'm sharing with my boyfriend and our roommate, who both work. I stay at home, long story short I'm overqualified for seemingly every job in our small town. Go figure -_- Logging the cleaning times in gives me hope I'll lose some sort of weight, but I'm not sure what to do OTHER than cleaning...
I know stuff like jumping jacks, but that's about it. Dancing...heard of that too, and do that. But that's about all I know other than the typical lunges/crunches/push-ups. I'm so out of shape I can barely hold up doing an actual workout for any longer than 15 minutes at a time, but yet I can sit there and clean for 30 minutes - 2.5 hours and barely be tired?
My body confuses me -_-

Walk, Jog, Run. even if its only around the block at first, start slow and build up, this will help avoid injury.
Lunges, crunches and pushups are more of a muscle building/toning exercises, Cardio is about getting the heart rate up.0 -
You should just start by taking a good brisk walk daily. Aim for 10,000 steps per day.0

a great way to start is with a Leslie Sansone dvd. You can even try it out to see if you like it byl going on line to Leslie Sansone Walk At Home or look under sample videos Leslie Sansone.0

Any fitness DVD that looks fun to you (yes, some are better workouts than others but if you enjoy it thats more important in the beginning) Your local video store probably has some so you can try out a few cheaply.
Try an exercise class at your local leisure centre (if you are in the UK its usually cheaper if you are unemployed)
Walk/run as others have suggested0
