I keep 2 grandbabies ages 9 mos and 14 mos. Sometimes it is hard to get outside or on a treadmill to walk and get in ALL of the exercise I want. So this afternoon while they were playing and a fav program of mine came on, I walked during the commercials and logged about 2,000. steps, inside my house. Did not do all of them, but I was shocked to see how many I stepped. I posted a June 10,000 steps a day Challenge so it was just another tool to use to my advantage....The TV is great for somethings. I have a fitbit too so that is a great tool. Instead of eating or sitting just walk during commercials. Log the steps in when you do them.

Log them when you try it. Good Luck!

Great idea nanna. I don't watch that much TV, but it could work with just about anything we do, ya think? If at the comp, every 10 minutes, get up and walk for 5? I love your idea. I will get my pedometer out, try to get it set right again and go for it. Thanks

Thank you Ladybug. I thought it would be at minimum a challenge. Tks for replying. :)

I do a ton of walking right in front of the big screen. I don't do it just through commercials though. I DVR the shows I like, then find time to jump on the treadmill during the day and walk for the whole shows. I kill 2 birds with one stone. I love it!

my hairdresser does this too- either watches a movie (she has an elyptical machine) or catches up on fav tv shows. she said it makes the time go by fairly quickly, and you also don't think about it as much. Great idea!
