Grrrr the binge monster attacks while I'm cooking

Need some advice...any ideas on what I should do to avoid "tasting" while I'm cooking. I always feels so defeated after a meal because I know I'm eating more than I should but I can't account for those tastes. My taste monster is an ugly beast and is killing me on the calories because I have to taste everything I cook. I'm thinking of chewing gum, and when I do need to taste only use a small baby spoon and pop another piece of gum. Any other ideas?
