OK,

so after consulting with my doctor and a trainer, I've declared myself an after.

I'm concentrating on maintaining this size, but lowering my body fat by 2 more percentage points.

I am freaking eating what seem like "extra calories" at maintenance.

I've been a person who's losing weight for so long . . .I'm really struggling with the idea that I don't have any more to lose.

I'm usually a pretty logical person, help!

Words of wisdom? Encouragement? Anything?

Anyone else experiencing something similar?:flowerforyou:

    Congrats!

I have a way to go so have no advice from experience...don't sweat it though...I would think that you would increase your daily intake by 50 - 100 calories till you find the right intake for the maintenance...this site may calculate that for you, I'm not sure...if you gain a lb or 2 you could cut the calories again.

I'm really very happy for you!

Congratulations!!!! Wow, you have done it! Now all you have to do is maintain! The battle is over, and now you're just residing over your kingdom hehe:happy: You can still be active and work out just like you have been doing, only now you get to eat more while doing it!
  • First off -- YAHOO for you!!

Secondly -- REJOICE -- YOU DID IT!

Thirdly, I've wondered about this very thing myself. What will I be when I'm not a "dieter" anymore? Not to say that this title singularly defines any of us but really if you've been working on this for any length of time (and for some of us it feels like it's been our whole lives) we tend to think of ourselves with several classifications -- "mother", "wife", "dieter", "student", etc...

So now it's time for a new mindset and you can delete "dieter" from your list

    This is just awesome!

That is soooo cool!! Congratulations!!! I understand how you must feel - when you accomplish the "goal" you've been focused on for so long there is definately a let down period. Kinda like being a little lost. You'd think it would be the opposite :ohwell: Maybe if you sit down for a little bit and evaluate your life you can set another major goal you can focus on to have an outlet for that energy that was so focused on losing weight?? You want to get your body fat down 2% - sounds like a good area for focus. And go easy on yourself. You'll feel better shortly when you get a little more used to the idea you've made it and now can maintain! You go girl - you rock!!

I think it just takes time. When I lost a lot of weight a few years ago I kept heading for Lane Bryant or the women's department before I would realize that I didn't need to shop in that section anymore. Your mindset is all that needs to change and that will come with time!

In the mean time! CONGRATUALTIONS!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

I have two years to go, it seems like a long road but I keep trying to remember that the Christmas season comes so fast every year that two years will pass before I know it!

Do a cartwheel and ENJOY YOUR SUCCESS!!!! Get out there and buy some skinny clothes!!! WOO HOOO!!!!

That is a scary thought. How does one keep from falling off the wagon? I've been trying to change certain habits (eating greens with lunch and dinner, putting the fork down between bites) and I'm hoping that these become new good habits. I'm hoping that these new good habits will allow me to not keep track of my calories for the rest of my life.
I would say that you have to be able go a day without tracking calories or thinking about it, then enter them all in at the end of the day - and hit the mark within 100 calories. If you can do that for a week, then you are ready to stop tracking. That would be my goal anyway.

    Best of luck!
