Going from P90x to Power 90?

Has anyone ever gone "backwards" from P90x to Power 90? I enjoy P90x and love Tony Horton and love the strength/resistance training it incorporates, but I'm finding the length of the workouts difficult to fit into my day, particularly if anything else happens in the evenings during my normal (and only) workout time. I'm wondering if the slightly shorter Power 90 series might be better.

Or perhaps the 10-minute Trainer might be better? I'm even considering going back to 30DS for a time.

Thoughts?

I don't see anything wrong with trying a less time consuming workout. Sometimes it's about quality over quantity. I'm a firm believer that your workouts need to fit your goals as well as your lifestyle. If there is simply no way to workout any time that would allow you to get in a quality 60-ish min workout (as required by P90X) then find something that does fit your time frame and work your a$& off during it :)
However, (here comes the tough love, so brace yourself) If you want to stick with P90X then make it work (period). For example, I work 60+ hrs each week and commute 2 hours/5 days a week, and I take care of my daughter on my own most evenings. That means I either work out in the late PM or early AM (like, 5 am early). That’s the only way I can make it work! There have been many times that I said I couldn't make the time (shoot, I still say that sometimes). But, I want to be a P90X grad, so I make it work.
Ok, back to the more reasonable me. If your goals is to get fit and healthy, find the workout that fits your life and excel in it. You'll get there :)
    Best of luck!

I did great for the first 5 weeks until little things started getting in the way that I swear to you did not come up once in the first 5 weeks -- illness, evening school events, business trips, and vacation. Now that I've had some time off from it, I'm trying to decide if I liked it well enough to get into it again for last 7 weeks (essentially starting over with week 6 -- again), especially when it feels like the whole schedule so easily gets screwed up if a day or two is missed. Maybe I'm just taking that part too seriously. I have a big trip planned for the end of July so I will probably plan to keep doing the P90x until then. Then I'll re-evaluate.

But once you've done P90X, is anything less than that going to be boring or unchallenging?

You'll find P90 unchallenging after doing the X. I'd suggest just doing the first half of the P90X workouts if you're crunched for time....and on the days you do have the time you can do the whole thing. Tony Horton said that you'll get 80% of the benefits in the first half of the workout, and I think 80% of P90X is a lot more than what you'd get from P90. I've done only the first half a few times, and I found that I push myself harder knowing that the workout has been shortened....and this would possibly make up some of that 20%.

How about doing something like Turbo Jam or Turbo Fire. If you like to know more about these videos I can send you links. I also have a p90x support group on FB if you like to join.

Thanks for the feedback on Power 90. I didn't want to waste money on something that I wouldn't enjoy. I will give myself permission to do only half of the workouts on nights that have abnormal interruptions. Otherwise, I'll finish the P90X and then look into the Turbo Fire/Jam workouts or Chalean in July.
