"i gained 5 lbs eating carbs"
Someone just wrote me:
"I Gained about 5 lbs while training for my half marathon because I increased the amount of carbs that I needed to run 18 to 20 miles a week. The only way to get it off is to go back to eating extremely low carb. I found this great article about why you cant lose weight unless you reduce the amount of carbs you are eating. Awesome information!"

Tell her how much you love "drinking" your carbs!! I know I consume more carbs via liquid (read booze) then any other method!
And if that doesnt work, tell her you log them as water!!!0 -

Fact: It requires a surplus of 3500 calories to gain a pound.
Fact: While training for her half she ate a surplus of 17500 calories = 5 pounds (assuming it was all fat).
To a certain extent, when you get into a healthy weight, the scale is a *kitten* liar and can't be trusted to *kitten* your fitness. If that were true I'd be far less healthy this year at 134 pounds than I was last year at 123 pounds, but I'm stronger, faster, and fitter now than I was then.
Anecdotal: I lose weight when I stop eating wheat because I'm allergic to it, I can eat carbs all day long as long as they are gluten free and not have any impact on my weight gain/loss. I've been tested by an allergist and this is my reality, if you are not sensitive to gluten than this would not be your reality. However, I always suggest that people get tested for food allergies because if you are allergic to certain foods eating them can make your body inflammed and while not necessarily showing anythig on the scale it can make a difference in real true inches.0 -

If you go from eating zero carbs to eating them, of course you will gain weight - But it's water weight, not mass.
Anyone who tells you that you HAVE to go low-carb is crazy.0 -
