I feel like a total failure today. I did ok earlier today, I ate a normal breakfast and a normal lunch (had my 60 minutes on the elpitical today), but then it was time for my husband and me to have our Valentines Day dinner, I know a day late but we didnt have anyone to watch the kids last night. Anyways, We went to Chilis and I ordered their 2 for 1 red wine and sprite. Then the chips came out and my husband and I ate all the chips and we ordered the cheese dip to go with it. OMG it was so good. For dinner though I think I did pretty well, I ordered the grilled chicken quesdilla explosition and only ate 1/4 of the cheese quesdilla. Then we came home and my mother in law came with carrot cake and I ate 5 bites, mini ones but still bites, and now I feel horrible. I know it was a special occation and not to dread it, but it does bother me especially since I have been stuck at this weight for about a month and not budging. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!!!n Any feedback positive or negitive would be appreciated!!

Wow what a pretty lady you are. Well as for the diet problem, I'd say blame it on the wine. Put alchohol near me and I will eat every blasted chip in sight, although I never eat them otherwise. You had a special day, hopefully you enjoyed it,now move on.You have years to accomplish this if need be. Just do your best and keep trying.

Do not feel horrible. You had a beautiful Valentines dinner with your loved one. BE happy that you have someone to love and who loves you. You enjoyed the meal! We have to enjoy ourselves in order to live happy normal lives. Eating out one night and having something really fattening and not counting the calories is ok. The trick of course is not to continue into the next day. Just get back on track tomorrow. Be happy that you had a great Valentines day. Think of today as a special day and think of tomorrow as a normal day for you. We dont have to suffer to get healthy we just have to be consistant. You had a special day dont let your feelings go from enjoyment to horror. Its not worth it and it takes away from the joy you had. Good luck tomorrow. You are doing a great job! Lolly
  • You should not feel horrible. You have lost so much weight to date and you are doing so well. This one day is not going to hurt you or to set you back. Be happy that you had a special night with your hubby and no kids. I am a stay at home mom and that is always a huge special deal for me. I wish that I had more!! Tomorrows a regular day, treat it that way and you won't have anything to feel baldy about.

I am too and I completely understand. It's like while you're doing it, you're telling yourself that it's a special occasion... I'll just go for an hour and a half on the eliptical tomorrow... But once it's all over, and you're alone.... You just begin to feel disgusted. I know exactly what you're saying - and I have to admit... It's reassuring to know that someone else feels the same!

However, I looked at your profile and your pictures and I am so proud of you! I know it's just some random stranger, but I gotta tell you.... You look amazing! Honestly, how did you lose all that weight and get so tiny!! :) Share any secrets/thoughts! I'd love to learn from you!!!

Take care and Good Luck! You're doing a great job!

You are doing what I should have done after my babies and that is focus on making mommy healthy too, but, you need to enjoy the sweet things in life and the attention your husband gives you when they come. Don't beat yourself up for enjoying a meal and you did a great thing by getting on the elliptical earlier in the day. Just make tomorrow about being healthy and enjoy yourself!

LIke it was said earlier, you are beautiful, young and aware of yourself don't let your little negative voice take over!

One of the reasons we fail at "diets" is because they are so restrictive. It is not bad to enjoy a night out with the family, and to appreciate your mother-in-law's efforts, this freedom takes the "restrictive" clause out of our brain. Today and tomorrow you add a bit more exercise, and eat a few more raw vegetables. We allwander to the forbidden food zone, we just don't want to do it everyday because of the end results.
  • What is it about wine and snack food???????

I say drink more so you forget what food is there - i know its calories, but its less than those snack foods!!

It sounds like, to me, that overall you didn't do too bad. I think you should be proud of yourself for only eating 1/4 of dinner and only 5 bites of carrot cake!! Plus, maybe the extra calories will actually kick start your metabolism and you will be back on track. It happens a lot - especially if it's a one day sale on the food. Sometimes beating yourself up is counter-productive. :flowerforyou:

I did the exact same thing last night and I don't feel a bit guilty and you shouldn't either! This is not about one meal..... it's about a way of life. You're not going to spend the rest of your life never eating out, so don't feel bad about it now. If your putting forth the effort the other 95% percent of the time then that's 100 times better than what you were doing before you started this "way of life" right?

One meal won't demolish and entire weeks worth of hard work. Be happy and don't beat yourself up. Don't be so self critical, we are human. You are doing a fantastic job!!! Focus on the positive!

    Happy Valentines!!
