The Double Belly...UGH

I thought I was the only one with a "B" belly (because from the side it looks like the letter b)!!
I hate my stomach....it has always been oddly shaped, and the top is slightly bigger than the bottom. It was smaller when i had lost weight before i got married, but the weight came back and now my belly is awful.
But, I must say that it is nice to know I am not the only one on earth that has this shape. xx0 -
I knew that it couldn't be just me and my bestest baby buddy with the dreaded "giant belly flaps of doom" as we so lovingly call them. I HATE my stomach more than anything, to the point where I cannot stand to have my husband touch it/them. Actually hideous. My lifes dream is to be rid of the pair of my stomachs. How sad is that???
Am also hoping that when I shift some of this weight they will be less noticeable, especially my top tummy, which in certain items of clothing makes me look pregnant (I last had a baby 4 years ago). Much love to all those on this thread with the belly flaps of doom. I seriously feel your pain, good luck all xxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Same here! Except my bottom belly is sliced in half top to bottom from a c-section so I have laugh when I say I have two bellies and two butts.
What can you do? Not sure, but learn to accept it and try to improve it. Life ain't always beautiful, but its a beautiful ride.
I have two bellies and two butts too....LOL!!!!!!
Oh my gosh! I have that too! Never occured to me to call it that tho. I have noticed that since losing weight my "front butt" is more defined. My scar is HUGE!!0 -
Yup! Victim of the double-belly syndrome too. lol What I dislike most is that my belly protrudes past my boobs...especially sitting down. UGH!0

I do. And they seem to be the last thing to go.0

I completely understand and know what you are going through. I have not always had it but I have always been heavy. Definitely need to eat lean meats, stay away from fatty foods that add to the bulge and get some exercise in that targets the mid and lower abs. There are many out there so find some that work for you. I am definitely working on mine as well. Best of wishes.0

So glad I'm not alone. Livestrong suggests the following to reduce the double belly. Seems like a pretty universal plan. Off to the gym....
Step 1
Eliminate foods that have added sugar, more than 400 calories per serving and more than 5 percent of the daily value of fat from your diet. This typically includes giving up chips, soda, ice cream, cookies, fast and fried foods.
Step 2
Choose more fruits, grains, low-fat dairy, lean proteins and vegetables for your snacks and meals. These types of foods are low in calories, fat and sugar but high in vitamins and minerals, which are fuel for an active lifestyle and promote a lean body composition.
Step 3
Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day to help fill you up.
Step 4
Perform three to five strength-training sessions per week, concentrating on exercises that target your arms, legs, chest, back and stomach. You can perform a full-body workout or workout muscle groups on certain days. Do at least eight to 12 repetitions per exercise.
Step 5
Do aerobic exercise daily, aiming for 30 to 60 minutes. The amount of calories you burn will depend on your weight, the duration and intensity of the workout and the activity. Start with as many minutes as you can do and gradually increase the duration.0 -
Yall are hysterically funny with the descriptions. ROFL. I have heard it all.0

I've got the exact same problem, and I hate it.0

80 lbs. ago, I had two large bellies. 80 lbs. later, I still have two bellies. They're just smaller than they were. Saggier too. I think the lower one is actually a bit flatter than the upper one and truth be told, the only way I'm going to get rid of them completely is to finish losing the fat (30 lbs. to go), maintain for a while, and then get plastics. Ab work has helped--planks, crunches, and a variety of exercises my physical therapist gave me to help strengthen the core. I've lost a couple inches in my waist and hips in the last few weeks from these exercises alone. Probably just tightening muscle since the scale hasn't really moved but it's definitely a difference. Body types like ours lose the abdominal fat last, unfortunately. Just keep working at it. Sensible diet, regular exercise, healthy lifestyle. And patience. Lots and lots of patience.0

I have the two bellys. An upstairs and a downstairs. The downstairs basement belly has significantly more square footage than the upstairs but the belly button landing line is clearly defined. I have actually named it my "Buttelly". If you look at it sideways, it's totally a big wopsided butt masquerading as a belly. The downstairs has been there since puberty. Literally at every size, the belly basement has been with me. It's like I have a built in flotation device. Looks like I'm smuggling a ducky swim ring in my pants at all times....Until I turn around and then there's the flat screen tv in the back of my pants. Dagnabbit if it don't have a crack in it though. :brokenheart:
Anyhoo. Buttellys must not be all bad or else wouldn't so many exist. Here's to downsizing! :drinker:0 -
I am finally at or near my goal weight, but still have belly issues....I have 2 belly buttons!! One is the real one...the other is the dimple in my lower abdomen where I had my tummy cut to have my appendix out....sucks..but now I have 2 belly buttons....and since the muscles were cut, I have a belly bulge that won't go away...0

I'm sure I'll never get rid of my double belly. At my highest weight I was 224lbs. In the picture, I'm 197lbs at 5"4'. I've now lost 77lbs and as you can see in the photos, I STILL have a significant double belly. I haven't left the house in 3 years with a compression tank under my clothes. It's extremely horrible.

I have it and will always have it, as I have a lot of loose skin over my belly button now.0

Ouch I have that too, it's been like that ever since. Cycling helped a lot (with the lower one), but as soon as I stopped it started to get back to the original shape, even though my weight did not change...0
