my life of the past few months in a nut shell....all in order of happenings

DH gets laid off...we move...he's denied unemployment, put on 8 week hold, was his fault he got fired...almost no income for 2 months...IRS wants all the taxes owed for 08 ($1100), no payments of bankruptcy :noway: ...could lose it all...gaining more and more weight...savings is gone...stopped using dyer, dishwasher, tea maker...he gets a job 3 days after his 8 week hold :ohwell: ...he appeals unemployment...wins, they had no right to fire him...pay off IRS with the nice unemployment check...i turned 50...neighbor is replacing his privacy fence in sections...please put it in my yard and i will recycle it for me. cost under 300, i'll take it...putting it up now. small sections at a time since just me and DH doing it...we are together 32 years now, he takes me away on a 24hr trip to some gardens, what we needed...he loves his new job...bills are getting paid...and i LOVE my new house. would like more money decorate it more, in time it will be there. need to refurbish savings.

the weight just kept on coming.....it didn't help make money come into the home, it didn't help pay the bills, it didn't help with the worry, made it worse. i missed out on wearing my cute summer clothes i was so looking forward to wearing. now i have to lose it or i won't have winter clothes to wear.

I AM BACK WITH A MISSION TO WEAR BY WINTER CLOTHES

BUMPING.....come out of hiding "old" sixers. i for one know how you are feeling (if you haven't been at your best). come back to it, you'll feel better......it didn't help me through the tough times, just made me feel worse about myself.

well, looking at getting a puppy. just don't know if i want to go through the training. it's a husky, lab, mix. 6 weeks old. look like husky. i will go look at him, if they still have the husky looking one. the others look of lab and shepard. i told myself at least it would make me take him out walking and training him. will let you know what happens.

need to go find something to do so i don't eat lunch yet, too early.

    later......

Cathy - You've had so much going on! :flowerforyou: I'm so glad things are looking up for you!

Kristin - You're more organized than I was at this point with my first. Can't wait to see pictures when the baby get here!

I actually gained a bit from the last challenge. :grumble: Part of it is not exercising as much as I should, part of it is water retention due to TOM & poor sodium choices. I'm going to do it this time! I have some winter clothes I want to get into also! Kids go back to school 3 weeks from today, so I should be able to get more exercise by walking to pick them up. I get my orthotic inserts around the same time, which will make it much easier too!

My goal loss is very small. I dropped 10lbs in a little over a week due to extreme stress keeping me from eating. Not intentionally starving myself but doing it all the same. Learning to start eating again. I ate a full dinner last night. Saw a 2lbs gain, some of which was from sodium. It's okay. I will not allow this to turn into an eating disorder. I decided that today. Healthy weight loss is the only way to go. Therefore my goal is to lose 2.2lbs in the next 6 weeks, only because eating again will increase my weight. This is okay. I need not get discouraged. I need to eat so I can work out. (I've only been intaking roughly 600 or 700 cals a day for a while.)

My life in a nutshell. Ex wants to work on marriage. Ex decides to ditch me and kiddo to start dating. (Start of my severe stress.... he mistreated my child, like my father did me.) He started treating me nasty. Sunday he wanted to work things out. Last night he got angry when I was sad. Told me he hated me, said other extremely hurtful things to me. Went back to calmly talk to him (so we can divorce amicably) and now he wants to work things out again. I deserve better but I hate to give up on my marriage if he really COULD change. Stupid to give him another chance with his track record of mistreating me for years. Completely conflicted. No appetite, just stomach tied in knots. Trying to straighten myself out now. Gotta pull it together and decide what has to be done. This part of life sux.

    Thank you sweetie.
I know in my life I have many supportive friends, both online and in real life. I have such sweet supportive friends because I am a good person and a good friend. People treat you the way you treat them (generally) -- so to have such overwhelming supportive friends (and I mean tons popping out of the woodworks), I must be a good person. And if I am a good person, I deserve to be treated as such. Logic works. Now I've gotta use that logic to overtake the heart. But the more he doesn't treat me like I deserve right now.... the more my heart is closing off to him.

And before joining MFP, I thought I ate a low sodium diet because I didn't cook w/ or add a lot of salt to my food. I couldn't believe how much is in different foods! :noway: No wonder I ended up plateauing with Weight Watchers! They say watch the salt, but it's not figured in to the Points!

Well my friends ... today is my 4th day off ... and tomorrow I'm back to work. Thank goodness. I don't know about the rest of you but without my regular routine I find it harder to stick to the plan ... mostly I drink less water then when I'm at work. On my desk I have a brita pitcher that I fill every morning and I'm sure to finish it before then end of my shift. Do any of you find the weekends and holidays harder to get the water in? It's not that I don't love the water ... but I get so distracted with other stuff and don't think of it all the time. Anyway ... I'm rambling on aren't I. I'm just glad to be going back to work tomorrow. Hope you're all having a good day.

My body seems to love 200 pounds, I however do not!!!!! I really want to lose weight in a bad way. I just need my mind and my body to cooperate with one another! :grumble:

I really think the key is going to be clean eating.....I dont know how I am going to make it work but processed food is just going to have to leave my life. I am going to make a goal of 80% clean eating/20% not. I dont think it is realistic to think I can cut it all out but this will be a start!

Well, I just posted my final weight on last weeks thread, little late... lol, haven't been on MFP since 10 AM yesterday. Kinda feels good to unplug sometimes. Anyways, I lost 7 pounds in the last challenge. I'm only putting a goal of 4 pounds for this 6 weeks, because I am 4 weeks away from our Disney cruise. I'm gonna try and work out daily on the cruise (keep plugging away on C25k) and try to make ok food choices. But, it's a vacation, and it's a cruise, and there's food (really really good food) everywhere you turn. I'm gonna be realistic, and I know I'm gonna eat. I'm kinda bummed, because I had hoped to be able to wear my wedding ring comfortably on the cruise, and it's still not going on without force. I have a month... I have a month... I have a month.... lol

Good to see you back Cathy!

Lauryn, how very hard for you hun. Even if you decide to give him a chance, keep your lives separate, don't just move back home. Make him woo you. If he's really changed, he will be consistent for the next several months. If it's just a ploy to get you back, he won't be able to keep it up, and you'll see it.

Amy (PDX), it's hard to take out all the processed, especially when you have kids. I've been working at it, but we still have pasta roni and rice a roni dishes at least once or twice a week. I've switched to brown rice cooked with chicken or beef broth sometimes, but the kids and DH really love the Ronis.

Maggie, I only work 2 days a week, so I don't see much of a difference in my habits. Other than I stand longer in front of the fridge to decide what to eat when I'm home:laugh: I carry around a 32 oz water bottle with me all the time, so the water isn't too bad. If I drink coffee I find I have a harder time getting my water in for some reason. And I don't drink much coffee, only one cup once or twice a week, and 1 cup during work. Who knows? lol

    good mornin' sixers
(yup i am back to my morning hellos)

yea, bunny 7#s. you can put on those rings for your cruise. picture yourself doing it everyday, tell yourself you will, and it will happen. positive thinking.

speaking of positive thinking. i had to learn to do that in my months of stress. being down just seemed to make things worse. i found i put things in different orders. i had to put myself on the back burner for awhile, it wasn't at the top of my list at the time. i also learned i had to have a good attitude most of the time. this is life and **** happens. if the eating/exercise doesn't go the way we want we still have to move on. when life becomes balanced again it will become back onto the top of the list. we learn from all of this. i did make trips to the gym when time allowed or the want was there. it felt good to do that and it renewed my strength to go on.
so, this weeks lets always wake with a smile, and if someone comes up to us squawking about something, turn it around to make them think of something positive.
example DH was rushing around this morning when he found out it was a 3 hr drive to his first stop. he was also upset about it too. i told him to stop and take a deep breath and relax. he just grumbled something and walked away. i yelled after him, YOU are only causing havoc for your day. YOU are the one who can turn this around and make it a better day. he didn't say anything that time. i said a prayer after he left....

well, i need to get to my chores. housework, laundry today.

    later gater.....

I'll post something more interesting later. I am really tired this morning.

    Take care,

Robin, I went to lunch with a dear friend who said the same as you, and I loved her phrasing:
"He needs to step into YOUR life. You don't have to step into his." If he wants me back, my life and my routine and my schedule will not be compromised. He will want to join in stride with me. And if not, my life goes on. Period.

Amypyr, I was the same, thinking I had a low sodium diet. Poor poor uneducated me!!! But like you, I thought, "I never add salt to anything!!!" hahaha. I try to balance it now with lots of water. I feel like that should help, but as my BP creeps higher and higher, I'm thinking I'm in trouble. :ohwell: I wish I could eat "clean" but I know that is not in my cards right now. Maybe later, but not now.

Maggie, without my routine, I am SUNK. My exercise routine was blown when I lost my last job. I was working out 5 days a week then. Now I am good to workout 1 day a week. Disruption is no good, I tell ya, not for the likes of us folks.

Tammy, get some rest, doll! (I am really tired too, lol. I should take my own advice!!)

Cathy, it's so good to see you back here. We've missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kris, grow baby grow!!!! AND I WANNA SEE MORE BELLY PICS!!!! Now is the BEST time of pregnancy (from the outside looking in, at least!). I'm sure you look like you are about to pop.

Rhiannon, hi sweetie!!! Thinking of you! Hope you and the kiddos and Kyle are doing FANTASTICALLY!!!! We miss you!!

And as for me, I ate a small lunch and a reasonable dinner and already gained back 2lbs. Bound to happen but okay with it. I have to eat again.

Hey ladies... I'm here.... I still have the same goal of 185. I would love to be to my goal by Sept 6, a month away for my high school reunion. Mon/Wed/Fri -- I have been doing 6 am workouts and M/w/F I walk for 30 mins w/ two coworkers. Hopefully these are the changes I need to make my goal. I still go to the personal trainer on Tues/Thurs!!! I have started reading BECK DIET SOLUTION and I feel like I'm on my way. This week actually today is my one year weight removal journey, I started 8/4/08 and I have removed 49 lbs. YAY YAY!!! Any success is great. SO, I am still working towards my next goal. I love you all sixers and you keep me accountable to my goals. Thanks for all the support:flowerforyou:

    (((TAMM))) HI YOU !!!!! :flowerforyou:

Your weight loss is amazing, but inquiring minds want to know--- what size were you and what size are you now? I bet you look FANTASTIC! Weight (numbers) aren't always as indicitive of your size as what clothing size you fit into. I know I carried my weight well and fit into clothing that most people 20lbs below me barely fit into.

I think you will have so much fun at your reunion!!! Mine is scheduled for Nov 7 now and I'm debating attending.

Good morning ladies! Whew, it's been a busy day, and it's only 11! I got up at 5:30 with the dog. She was crying after she came in because she had no water, and I couldn't feed her. She is having surgery today to remove some growths. She's got a lump inside her ear that is almost an inch big (only took a month to grow to that from a pimple sized bump) and another lump on her head in front of her other ear (not growing as fast as the other, but still growing). The vet thinks it may be skin cancer. I about cried after dropping her off, she didn't want to go with the aide. She kept pulling at her leash and looking through the door at me:sad: And crying:sad:

After dropping her off, I drove into town and went to the Island (it's not really an island, more like a penninsula, but it's called Presque Isle) and went around that, doing week 3 of C25K. This is my second week doing it, because last week I couldn't make it through for both of the 3 minute intervals. Well, just to show how much I improved, I did one podcast of week 3 by GoNicole.com, then when that was done, I did another podcast of week 3 by Suz. Passed a jerk right after I started, I was going downhill and he said "It's easy to run downhill, isn't it?" Mind you, I had just started an interval as the hill sloped down, so he saw me start to run at that point... But still, stupid jerk! It's 1.9 miles from where I parked my car to where the drinking fountain is, and I turned around at that point. And, by doing the second podcast, I ran my butt back up the hill that I came down in the first place. Where was the stupid jerk then, I wonder!

So, I drove home and showered, just in time to have a protein shake and drive my son back into town for his drivers ed class. And now I'm home again (I'm putting off cleaning the bathroom) until I have a nail appointment at 1. Driver's Ed finishes at 3 (unless it lets out early like it did yesterday), and then I'm home for the night. Anyways, hope you all have a wonderful day... Once I'm done posting on a few of my fave threads, I'm putting this away. I liked being unplugged the last couple of days! Not to mention, I've got some books to plow through (I can get through one a day, if I'm not wasting time on the 'puter). Each book from the library that I read gets me an entry into some prize raffles. I've entered to win 2 massages and dinner and a movie, a grocery shopping trip, and a dinner and a movie night (gift certs to 3 different restaurants and enough for 2 or 3 trips to the theater). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my love of reading pays off big time! lol

Some people are just hateful, spewing their disgusting negative life all over anyone near them.
BTW, I had shin splints so when I ran, I had to use a decline. Running downhill was all I could do to begin with but slowly I was able to bring it to a level incline. Trains the body all the same.
Next time carry mace. :flowerforyou: LOL

I am so sorry to hear about your dog. Poor thing.

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt when they say stupid things. Unless he said it in a very condescending tone, try giving him the benefit of the doubt so that it doesn't affect your mood. Studying psychology and personality disorders I have found that some people who have social interaction issues find that if they make eye contact with someone they are obligated to say something and what they usually say ends up not coming out as they intended or could be taken a different way.

Either way, don't let something like that affect you because the only opinion that matters is your own.

    Take care,
    Tammy

Okay Chipper. Consider yourself shook. Feel better now? You can do this!! So I went for a nice hike down the Niagara Gorge last night. It was so beautiful ... what a difference when there's no humidity. Breathing was so easy, I felt free. I hope you all and have a great day and an even better rest of the week.

Cathy, you are ready to get back to the lifestyle you KNOW you should be on. YOU CAN DO THIS!! :flowerforyou: Keep us updated.

Maggie, still SO JEALOUS that you can WALK to Niagara Falls. :grumble:

    Hi Sixers!!!!!!

I am gaining weight back since I'm eating again. Probably a lot of water retention too. I'm accepting that it's okay and still going to eat. No disorders here, thankyouverymuch. I have enough drama in my life!! No need to add more.
