    IMHO, that is a complete joke. If he wants to see how hard it is for a REAL overweight person to lose weight, he would have to stay fat for a LONG time. He was fat, but had all of that muscle under the fat. Losing the weight for him was a million times easier because he didn't have to worry about balancing the low calorie weight loss with trying to add muscle to assist in weight loss. Not to mention, when a male gets overweight and loses his muscle mass, he becomes estrogen dominant. In his case he wouldn't have nearly had the same issue. This was just to sell a book and I hope a lot of people see through it.

    Agree with the previous poster. I found his idea offensive when I heard about it some months ago. For people who have not been at the level of activity that he was it is a completely different story. Also, the fact that he gained weight on purpose does not equate to people that put on weight after years of food issues.

    I didn't read the article, but I can already tell you the guy has no idea how hard it is, if simply because he didn't have to live as a fat person for 10 years and suffer all the emotional turmoil that comes with it.
