Fractured vertabrae means no exercise..

Hi all. My name is Louise, I'm 24 and from England. I currently live in Barcelona.
I had an accident Saturday morning (involving a 10m diving board and a funny landing) and have now fractured my D12 vertebrae and will be in a brace for 3 months. This obviously means I won't be getting around much nor doing any exercise. I have to sit up straight in this brace and it shows how big my belly has got. Soooo if I can't exercise then I need to control my diet.
I have wanted to find something like this for ages. I am not a serial dieter, but I do always try to be good to balance when I'm bad. My worst habit is snacking on crisps. Recently though I have started to take advantage of the array of fruits available here in Spain. I've started having oranges, bananas, kiwis, melon and lots of different nuts. I never used to like fruit, but it is becoming something more notable in my diet. However I am not a fan of sweet things and find I always crave something savoury afterwards.
Hummus is my all time favourite savoury snack, but is hard to find here. I need to find somewhere that sells tahini and then I'll be all set to make my own.
Just thought I'd say hi and explain my story a bit. Anyone living in Barcelona give me a shout
