Eating too much protein?

I usually go minus on carbs so I've been trying to eat less carby things, for example no white bread today whereas I used to have a sandwich for lunch... but now I'm coming in around minus 40-50 protein for the day, so I'm obviously eating too much protein.
Everything else is fine, calories, fat etc. I'm just obviously not eating balanced enough and looking at my diary the two biggest things seem to be that I eat a lot of grilled chicken and salmon
Should I be eating less? So to sound like a stupid newbie but what consequences are there for eating too much protein when calories etc is fine?

I am a dietitian at a weight loss clinic. Our patients aim for less than 100g of carbs daily and try to get 80-100g protein daily. To change your settings, you can click on goals and then custom. You can set your own goals for carbs and protein here. Hope this helps!0

I've found that MFP has carbs way to high and protein to low, you might change your Macros to
40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat
You should have at least 1gram of protein per your goal weight
ex. you want to weigh 130 shoot for 130grams of protein0 -
Since you're not giving numbers and your diary is private, it's hard to comment. If you increased your protein intake much, try to increase your water intake as well since even though you can't overdose on protein, if you have an underlying kidney problem, (much) more protein then your kidneys are used to may cause problems. But I don't think you're anywhere near that since you're watching your caloric intake as well.0

Sorry, for example todays protein goal is 45, my total is 87
Thank you Reyna, seems my protein is way too low, I just haven't changed anything from how MFP arranged it0 -
Thanks guys x0

I agree higher protein is good...1 gram per pound is a good goal..or 1 gram per pound of your goal weight so if you weight 190 but want to be 150 id aim for 150.
Protein is the hardest for the body to convert to fat so if anything eat more of it without a doubt.0 -
It is almost impossible to eat too much protein in the context of a normal diet.
Most people eat too little. The RDA applies to sedentary adults only, all others need more than the RDA.0 -
so glad you asked this question!! Thanks!!0
