Recommended Weight Lifting Days

For the past several months I have been working from The New Rules of Lifting for Women book, and have made progress. Two weeks ago I finished Stage 3, and the week after was my break from weights. However, I cheated a little and went to a fitness class at my gym called "R.I.P.P.E.D" - A class that uses free weight dumbbells to do different strength, endurance, and cardio exercises.
I fell in love. It was much different from the same old reps I have been doing - More energetic and energy filled.
I can't get myself to the gym more then three times a week (which were my three weight lifting days.) I know in the book the author says two days is too little to weight lift and get results - But would this R.I.P.P.E.D class not count in strength building?
How many days would you suggest for lifting weights?
