Is there anyone out there who works the third shift? Working night shift is a hard thing to do. I need to know if someone can give me some ideas on what to eat and how to excercise so I can see some changes with my diet.

It can be difficult, depending on what you do. When I was working 8 hour night shifts I ate fruit and a protein such as cheese during my shift. NO coffee; I drank water and herbal tea. I ate a decent but not huge meal when I got home at 8 am and went to bed around 10am. I usually slept until the kids got home, 3:00- 3:30pm, and had my main meal of the day with them around 5pm. I napped from 7pm to 9pm, had a small "breakfast" and then went to work. I didn't exercise as I was working pretty hard as an RN, on my feet most of the time and heavy lifting.
Depending on your other responsibilities and your personal sleep pattern, you could get in exercise before or after work, or in between sleep periods.
When I was working 12h shifts I just resigned myself to being a zombie for 4 days and try to get in exercise on my days off. Except after a while I was a zombie for 8 days and only had one good day before going back to work. That's when I quit my job :happy:0
