Hi Everybody (excuse my english.. I speak spanish.. so)
I have a big question.. I need to lose 66 pounds... I had been exercise like crazy and I just lose a few pounds, my new trainer told me that is not important what you do.. Is how you do.. So the big question is because I had been reading many webs, and talking with trainers and all said that .. TO LOSE FAT (is hard) you need to workout in a 50-60% of intensity... (low....) If you do it in a 70-80% what you lose really is carbs... So the best to lose weight is ????
I am 34 years old, with a metabolism of a 50 age woman.... jaja.. And I exercise 6 times per week!!!
Love to hear your experiences..

The "fat burning zone" is the lower intensity and does burn a higher proportion of calories from fat but burns a lot fewer calories than exercising at a higher intensity. They are mistaken.......

In addition to burning more calories (which is what you want for weight loss) exercising at a higher intensity also gives your cardiovascular system a better workout.0 -
Thank you for your answer.. I am changing my way to exercise... Using more my Polar... and working intervals to get the best of the frecuency!!0

Losing fat is going to happen primarily based on your diet, not necessarily how intense your workouts are. If you're working out at a high intensity, but still eating too many calories, you will not burn much, if any fat.
However, I strongly believe that a proper diet combined with training at a high intensity produces the *fastest* and longest-lasting results. Good luck!0 -

This is exactly what I was going suggest. Interval training. 5 min high intensity, 5 mild. I do mine on an elliptical that has a weight loss program. The incline and resistance goes up, you work your butt off, then it goes down and you go at a moderate pace, it does this maybe 5 times.0 -
The fat burning zone would only matter in a closed system. Most people plan to eat again.0
