Hi I'm new to this

So I recently took up running and started to really think about my physical condition overall.
I'm 27 years old and I feel like while I am still young and in fairly good shape I should do what it takes to keep it that way or get even better. I would say I'm in an OK shape currently but I know I could be more fit. I want to get down to a size I was a few years ago, which doesn't seem totally unlikely...
Unfortunately now that I am thinking more about food, I am CONSTANTLY hungry... I can't stop snacking.
However, I am exercising more so maybe that's why? I can't tell... I am hoping that I'm doing it right but I'm having a hard time figuring it out.
Maybe you guys can give me a few pointers?
