anyone reading the fifty shades of grey trilogy?
I initially bought #1 and had no idea it was so erotic... :drinker: now I have all 3.

I hear a lot of people (guys- they can't all be Christian Grey- and prudes) bashing the book. Anyways it's a damn good book

Aw, anyone who doesn't like your favorite book is either jealous or a prude. Life must be difficult with that kind of attitude.

I am the furthest thing from a prude and I did not care for the book. I personally didn't find the sex steamy at all and was expecting a lot more BDSM.

I read an excerpt and decided it was most likely not for me. Not because I'm a prude, but because the "bdsm" was trite and bland to me. As were the characters.

I am, however, able to appreciate that people will like books that I do not like, and I am able to not label them with stupid labels.

And yeah, real-life "BDSM" is not like that.

I have yet to read the series and probably won't anytime soon if at all. From the reviews I heard it is poorly written and doesn't really capture the BDSM lifestyle.

Weak heroine, annoying hero, poorly written and meh sex scene.

Not for me but if you enjoy it knock yourself out.

It's such a loss for us to be deprived of insightful, well-written threads like this one.

I have personally read all 3 of the books. And I love them. If you want some more awesome books, try the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward,,,,,awesome!!!!

Meh. I just wonder how many threads we will see about these books. A new one seems to pop up almost every day.

    Subb = submissive

Even a non indulger such as myself usually sees it written as "sub", not "subb", which is what I think they were getting at :P

    Im guessing 'sub' but misspelled.

I also read an excerpt (actually a friend read it to me in a cafe). I found it to be utter tripe, no-one talks like that, and the 'ooooh myyyy' just reminded me of Quagmire from family guy. The BDSM was bland and uninspiring.

Saying that, the friend whose book it was thought it was utter rubbish, and yet admitted she cant stop and is on the third. Im going to stay away I think, as I have with Twilight.

Horrible, boring book. Terrible writing and the sex was not erotic at all. Two thumbs down for me.

You do realize that 50 shades started off as a Twilight Fanfic right? She just made minor changes....location and names.

I posted a 50 shades thread yesterday... it didn't get nearly this much negitivity LOL! There is my NSV!

Anyway.. I did enjoy the 50 shades series.. however.. as many pointed out.. IT IS POORLY written.. and every other page is a sex scene.. the same sex scene...

Too repetitive.. but I still couldnt stop reading, had to finish! And I don't regret it..

I tried looking into the Anne Rice book, Sleeping Beauty... I read a free sample off my google play book reader, and I have to be honest I wasnt sucked in. They only gave you a chapter, hard to get sucked in with a chapter.

I am currently looking for a good book right now.. always taking suggestions :flowerforyou:

Horrid writing and severe word over usage. Meh sex scenes.

I did however like the character christian grey. He reminds me of my husband in a lot of ways. My husband isnt so severly damaged though.
