Does anyone know any foods that I can eat that will fille up? It always seems like I am hungr, but my cut off point is at 7pm. That's when I stop eating food for the night, but I still drink water. If anyone knows any ideas please let me know. Thanks

There's a couple of things I'd think about here....
- first, are you eating enough calories through the day? If you have your calories set unrealistically low (ie 1200 a day) then you are probably genuinely hungry and should just eat more.
- second, why are you stopping at 7pm? There is no reason why you can't spread your calories out through the day to allow a snack in the evening if you would like one. If you are stopping at this time to try and change bad snacking habits, OK, but otherwise you are just making it hard for yourself.
- some ideas to fill you up - water, tea and coffee - herbal tea is great and no cals. If you feel like a snack, then fruit with a little bit of yoghurt or veggie sticks with salsa or hommus are great. I find nuts are a good evening snack - I only need about 6 - 8 (50 cals or so) almonds and that takes away that empty feeling in my belly.
PS. sorry to be picky - but the correct term is "curb your appetite" not "curve".0 -
Why do you cut off at 7?0

I think the general rule of thumb is that protein is more filling than anything - so things like greens, lean meats, nuts, eggs.
I find carrots and hard-boiled eggs to be snacks that can take the edge off. And hot soup too - Progresso makes great soups that are 200 calories for the entire can. I like minestrone because there are a lot of beans (protein).
Hope this helps!0 -
research shows you don't have to stop eating at 7pm or any cut off time. calories are the same any time of day & your body doesn't know how to tell time.
most seem to agree that you need to eat small meals more often to keep your 'furnace'/metabolism going. I like fruit and/or cheese in the evenings - it's filling but not heavy - I don't go to bed hungry and always wake up with an appetite. I like laughing cow or babybel cheese - with some grapes or a pear. some low cal ice cream or frozen yogurt is good too - get some protein, lasts longer than 'empty' snacks.
don't starve yourself & don't be too strict - this is a new lifestyle - NOT punishment
FEED your body (instead of just stuffing your stomach) and it will respond0 -
I think you mean "curbing" your appetite, not "curving". It might make a difference if you try to search for tips online or on the boards.
I find sometimes if I don't drink enough water, I'll think I'm hungry but really I just needed something to drink.0 -
Thanks everyone for those great ideas. Well I just switch to almond milk cause I have chron's disease and I cant have to much diary I figure I couldn't eat pass a certain time because it would just lay on my stomach instead of digesting it.0
