Add a stability ball to the work out equipment. There are millions of work outs designed for it and you can work your Core as you work other muscle groups.

Rest when you need to and start light on the weight untill you get use to the new range of motion.

    Good luck

I've been doing fitnessblender, its free on youtube, with a variety of workout videos, minimal equipment needed, or in some cases none at all, just has one person against a white background doing the exercises, no music. very effective, look them up on Google or Youtube they do new videos every so often too so you won't get bored.

My upper body is my biggest problem too. I'm considered an apple shape, but here is my daily routine:

*40-45 minutes of stationary bike (medium speed) usually burns about close to 500 cals
*bicep curls with 15 lb hand weights
    *jumping jacks between sets
    *pushups and pullups
    *chair dips
    *jump rope
    *chest press and shoulder press
    *lunges with weights
    *squats with weights
    *arm pulls
    *burpees
    *crunches

I alternate a varitety of these exercises throughout the week. Keep in mind the only way to burn fat is cardio, cardio, cardio LOL.

if you're interested in purchasing additional equipment, i'd highly suggest trx. it can be installed anywhere, stored easily, and is relatively inexpensive. it's also a fun workout that involves your entire body, but is very good for the core in particular. there are a ton of exercises you can do with it, and you don't even realize how much your entire body is working. i am not a huge "traditional" weights lover, so this made my core and upper body so much better very quickly!

Forgot to add that to my original list :blushing: I have one of those, plus an inflaitable poor-man's Bosu (not as big and heavy, doesn't have flat bottom / full half-dome, but suitable to stand on for working on balance) that I never really used yet. Thanks for the web-site! I like the idea of "two for the price of one" exercises!

    Anybody got Bosu-like suggestions?
