I have been steadily losing my hair due to meds and inherited any suggestions on regrowth? I also had an extreme diet change due to intolerance of wheat, gluten and dairy. Help???

Not sure if this will help but have you looked into Biotin supplements. They are suppose to help with hair growth and I swear my eye lashes are longer!

Folic acid may help. I have been prescribed some serious meds that may make me lose hair and my specialist also prescribed 10mg of folic acid daily. If it is methotrexate you are on, check with your doctor.

    Good luck

    1. Your body may need time to adjust to your diet change. If your body goes into shock from a change like that, extreme weight loss fo gain, stress, etc. Your hair is going to stop replenishing itself until your other systems get under control - it puts the energy where it is needed most. Once your body adapts it should get back to the normal growth cycle.

    2. Medications can alter the growth cycle significantly, especially if you're on any kind of hormone regulators. This is usually only temporary until you stop treatment, hopefully you're not sentenced to a life of pills.

In the meantime, eating a healthy, balanced, nutritious diet can help ge things started, you might want to take a multivitamin or a hair/skin/nail vitamin. B vitamins (specifically biotin) help hair growth along with vitamin E. There are some topical products like the Nioxin system that can prevent further loss and stimulate new growth but most issues with hair and skin are best resolved from the inside out.

    Good luck!

You might discover the joy of wigs for a time. I have a couple and they are fun to just throw on when I don't want to fuss with my hair.

I take Biotin, it helps with nails, skin and hair growth. I get compliments all the time, on how long my hair is. I don't think its that long, but hey, I see it everyday. Lol You could also take a multivitamin
