Vitamins???

I am officially restarting my clean eating and exercise regimen after a long stressful semester. One thing I want to incorporate this go around is vitamins. Are there any vitamins that you guys would advise me to pick up when i hit the supermarket today?

    I worked at a health food/supplement store for a few years and this was always a common question. Unless you're advised to do specific ones by a doctor or lacking something specific in your diet, I would always tell people to get a good balanced multi, omega 3 oil (unless you eat fish several times a day) and Vit. D (unless you get outside during the day regularly).

    If you are recovering from a really stressful time check the amount of B vitamins that are in the mutli (around 50mg for most is good). You could probably do an additional B Complex (all the Bs) but take them at different times.

    Are you in the US? I know NOW is sold there and are a very good company, although last I heard from them they don't sell their products to supermarkets only health food/supplement specific stores. You might want to try a place like that to get a good balance of price/quality. I find that when I try to ask people in supermarkets they aren't really trained to know about them.

    I know a lot of people think vitamins are BS but I have noticed a huge difference since starting mine 'regime" (recommended by my ND). I've stopped taking prescription medication and I can actually function in society now.

    this is relevant for me.

    My friend works at a Rite Aide, so he gets bored and reads lables. After a disasterious hair cut, he recomended taking Biotin which like fancy D-vitamins.

    So right now the pill popping list is:
    -Biotin
    -C
    -Multi
    -Omega 3 fish oil
    -Women's Vi active chews
    -Chromium Picolinate (doctor recommended)

    Should I cut any of these out, or just keep going as it is? I feel right now I'm popping more pills then my grandmother, and she takes hormoes +a bunch of "I am over 60 crap".
