Will I gain weight?

I'm planning to start Insanity in a week and so far I have been steadily losing weight by watching what I eat and portions. I will eat more a bit more after starting insanity so I have more energy for workouts.

My goal is to continue shedding inches and fat pounds. Should I expect to see my weight go up in the first couple of weeks? When should I see pounds going down and losing inches?

I just wanted to hear experiences of people who have done this program :).

Thanks!

Probably, it works most of the muscles in your body so I wouldn't be surprised if you saw a little water retention for a while. You'll still eventually lose weight and inches if you are in an overall calorie deficit. The second month was where I saw the biggest losses.

Don't forget to measure yourself before you start too, because if you don't notice a big change on the scale, you should see the inches start to slowly melt away.

You might gain some weight initially from water retention, and then later on from muscle mass. But you'll be slowly looking much better and getting much leaner. If numbers on the scale demotivate you, take body measurements or just take a picture of yourself "pre-insanity" in the mirror. Then when you look back, you'll have concrete comparisons for how much progress you're making.

If you don't work out now, then yes.

I don't work out now, no. However last year when I was active in the gym going three times a week 2 hours a day strength and cardio I gained 10lb. This all couldn't have been water weight or muscle, so I'm a bit intimidated this time around.
