Businesses who advertise weight loss products that don’t actually have you doing anything. I saw an infomercial today about this Abs contraption. It states you can get 6-pack abs by wearing this belt for X amount of minutes/day. They specifically stated that “You don’t need to do anything but put the belt on and watch the weight fly off” SERIOUSLY!!
This really bothers me because many people think weight loss is some sort of magic trick. The real fact that losing weight is a very simple formula of eating properly and exercising seems to be some kind of voodoo science. I guess I will stick with hard work = paying off = losing weight. It’s working so far. :drinker:
However, I do respect infomercials for workout programs. Although the people in them may have abnormally fabulous results, it still promotes that you need physical activity and proper a diet to achieve them.
So tell me, what fitness myth grinds your gears??

Between January and September of 2010 I lost 79 pounds. I had just had a baby, so probably half of that was baby weight...the other half, however, was just weight! Regardless, whenever someone asked me what I did to lose the weight, my response was always the same...I changed how I ate and I exercised. Everyone always seemed so disappointed by that. It was like I was supposed to have shared with them the secret key to eternal fat loss.
In reality, I did...but that generally isn't what people want to hear because it involves work.
I find working for it makes you appreciate it more. Changing my lifestyle has kept me in a size 2 for almost 2 years now!0
