Had been planning to start a 5x5 routine but wimping out. Heard about NerdFitness.com and noticed it was at home without equipment and modeled the same exercecises as 5x5 and gave it a try, well an attempt!
Did one set of squats and lunges on Tuesday and have crippling pain in my quads as a result, barely able to climb stars! Unbelievable muscle pain almost has me bed ridden
Oh, well, it will eventually get better and I can give it another go. Should have known better at my age ...
At any rate, for those contemplating 5x5 or other strength training after years (or decades) without serious exercise, I would recommend nerdfitness.com for a simple intro and tune up before adding weights.
Nothing wrong with the program in my opinion, just works the muscles well.
