I'm wondering whether walkers/runners, in particular, drink their water while slowing down their pace or do you stop completely? If you slow down, how much?

I don't run that far, a little over 2 miles, but I wait till I'm finished. Drinking during makes me feel too full. My main issue is having to spit when I run (I know, gross habit lol).

I stopped then drink. If I drink during a run, I'd feel a bit uncomfortable on the tummy.

Thanks all for the comments. :drinker:
I was told earlier by one MFPer they drink 4 cups while doing their exercise. I, also, would be sick if I tried this! I try to slow down but find that difficult. I just hate to stop totally then start back. That seems abrupt on the body.

Try to get as much in me before I run when it is hot out. If I am only doing 3 miles I don't usually hydrate during. Did an 8 mile run this past weekend and wore a belt that held small bottles for the first time and drank about 24 oz during the 1 1/2 hours a sip or two at a time.
