Going out to eat

So Friday my husband and I have our first date night since having our baby two months ago, and I'm sitting here googling menus and nutrition information like a maniac. I've been at this about 40 days, and I've stuck to my calories and exercise and am feeling really good. I haven't been out in months, and now I'm making myself crazy trying to plan so that I don't mess up. Would you just say screw it and try to eat well but not make yourself crazy? Would you count everything the best that you can and plan ahead? Do you not even tempt yourself with stuff like this? I see a lot of talk on here about "cheat days" but I don't really work like that. Any words of wisdom (not snarky comments if you can avoid it - I know some people are hard wired to be rude. Just advice if you have it please.)

Good for you for looking at things ahead of time! At least now you have a general idea of what things are going to "cost" you.
I would just go and try to enjoy yourself and be sensible. When ordering your food, maybe ask that they bring a salad out first and skip the (usually deep fried) appetizers.
Don't make yourself miserable and ruin your night.

When I go out to eat I do just what you are doing, try to find nutritional info on the site. If it's a big chain it's easy, if not, it gets a little harder. My advice is to get something healthy (grilled, broiled, veggies) and eat about half of it, as most restaurants double a proper portion and split a dessert with your husband. Enjoy yourself, this is a life change and sometimes we need to indulge a bit. Get a good workout in that day so you don't feel so bad!0

Hi,
the best method I heard so far is to eat just fruit for breakfast and lunch. After that you are almost free to eat more for dinner.
Maybe adding a romanting walk after the restaurant could also help to digest faster

I think you're going about it the right way. I research nutrition info before I go to a place. Just skip the appetizers. Like somebody above posted, they're usually deep fried. Go for some steamed/baked chicken/fish if the option is available.0
