CROSSFIT TRANING whats YOUR experience&advise...

I am wanting HONEST feed back on cross fit training.

I tried a demo cross fit class last night. It was fun, and I am thinking it is a great work out.

I did the 7-7-7-7 class

So…
7 medicine ball on thrown on the wall and catch it in squat position
Right after
7Burpees
Repeat 7 times and do it in 7 mins.. WOW THAT SHORT STINT KICKED MY *kitten*!!! Full soreness this morning…

Only thing is

I want to make sure that I am getting a confident decision in signing up for it.. so i would like your input answering these questions:

How long have you been doing it?
What do you like about it?
What do you hate about it?
What made you choose it do it?
What have your results been?
What would you change about crossfit if you could fix something?
What is your biggest challenge with cross fit?
How are you finding it on your body? Any injuries or stresses?
Are you incorporating a weight training plans well or strictly cross training?
What is your favorite thing about cross fit?
Or do you think it is just a “fad” form of working out…

Any other advise or suggestions please let me know…
It is very expensive- $480 to start (includes 5 training sessions so you know the proper forms for each exercise)
Then $120 per month and that’s only 2 classes per week!!!! So I want to make sure that I am confident with my decision since it is an expensive class. Plus I will be keeping my gym membership at $50 per month so that’s with taxes that almost $200 per month just on fitness!!! So if it worth it then I don’t mind. But want to hear honest opinions not from people who are trying to “sell” me the crossfit package

Thanks everyone.. as well, if there is something that you want to say and not want to post it. Please feel free to send me a message… thanks for your time reading my blurb!!

Ok, I went to a demo cross fit class last weekend
ours was 500m row, 40 air squats, 30 sit ups, 20 push ups, and 10 pull ups for time
so, basically that was a first for me
I like the team environment, that people are pushing you to finish and are encouraging
I hate that it's incredibly expensive
I chose because my wife has a coworker who has been in it for months and she has shown great results/strides
    N/A
I don't think I'd change the program, except the rates perhaps
I'm still sore after 4 days of not being there, I figure I need to go more to not only see results, but see how I am as far as adapting to the workouts
I haven't been able to incorporate much of anything yet being new, but would figure to have to add something because this does not burn enough calories for the down time
    I don't think it's a fad....if it's good enough for the navy seals

The place we went to offered a punch card 12 visits for $120 that lasts over a 6 month period.....I don't know, I figure I'd sooner go through the basic form teaching classes and incorporate them into workouts rather than all out kill myself trying to do timed routines....so far I haven't responded well, but haven't adapted yet either.

The wife and I found a livingsocial/groupon that offers a month unlimited for $39, so we did that, figure to take a few more free classes before getting into it....sorry to ramble but I figure I can at least walk away with some how to's \m/

You guys just made me appreciate my place so much more. Its $110 a month and they have classes every day but friday, you go as many times as you want. 45 minute session, 45 minutes of hard hard work. I've lost 8lbs in a month with somewhat better eating and feel stronger (also doubled my push up output).

For me the class is great, usually around 6-10 guys per session (women have their own time slots), all motivating you, all working together, some competition to keep you going as well. Its exactly what i was looking for. You go at your own pace if they ask for 20 reps you bust out 10 if you can, etc.

    sample class:

    warm up:
    Push ups 5 10 15 20 25
    Mountain Climbers 20 25 30 35 40

stations set up based on how many people and rotate every 60 secs or so, example stations:
    1. bike for 60 rotations (yells switch)
    2. medicine ball curls
    3. mountain climbers on a medicine ball
    4. medicine ball presses
    5. pushups on a medicine ball

in between stations or workouts people will call out workouts as well (25 pushups, 30 jumping jacks, 10 burpees etc), end of class probably have done 300-600 pushups.

Thats just a sample and probably not even the full 45 min workout we would do. End of class dripping sweat, next day your sore but you still go back. I have only done it for a month and I go about 4-5 times a week.
