Low blood pressure & HRM

I was just wondering if HRM are accurate for those with low blood pressure. I have fairly low blood pressure and a high resting heart rate because of it (80's - 90's normally, though when relaxing it does get into the 50's). Would the calorie burn be as accurate for me as for someone with a normal resting heart rate and blood pressure?

Hiya sweetie, I have the opposite problem. I have high blood pressure and I take beta blockers and cannot use a HRM as it gives a falsely low reading. I should imagine that you would have the same issue with low blood pressure and your doctor should be able to confirm this. I generally estimate my calorie burn or take an average figure.

I also have low blood pressure (generally runs 90ish/60ish - it varies). Have had it all my life. Not sure the answer to your question but here are some of my other stats if it's helpful.

My resting heart rate is 72.
I generally work out around 155-165 bpm.
My hrm has registered a max heart rate of 187.
I generally burn 725 calories in 60 minutes.

    Hope that helps!
