Jump rope vs Elliptical at home?

So i have an elliptical at home which is alright, and i just bought a jump rope, (i still suck at jumping rope without it hitting my feet, but still if i start i'll get used to it) so which should i tackle and stay with, as in time efficiency at calorie burning?

The jumprope is more intense for certain, but you can't sustain a jumprope forever.

I'd alternate - the jumprope would be great interval training, and the elliptical for sustained endurance building. Plus having two to choose from should help reduce boredom.

Do both. Switch things up when you get bored with one. Also, if you suck at jumprope like I do, you can always "pretend," just fold the rope, put it in one hand, jump and swing the arm with the rope- still the benefits, just needs a little less coordination.

^This! Don't limit yourself to one type of exercise, its better to keep mixing things up.
