I am trying to get back into running and would like to be able to finish my 1.5 run in under 10 min. I know most of you think that is a slow time but I am currently at a 13 min 1.5 I need all the tips to help me improve please.

Build your endurance. Work up to 4 or 5 miles a couple times a week at your current pace. Once you build it up, your speed will come naturally.
Every run can't be "as fast as you can go."0 -

It worked for me!0 -
Sprinting intervals seem to be working for me. I'm naturally a slow runner, but I will do a 30 second full sprint then minute walk and alternate for 20 minutes.0

I completely agree as well! and keep in mind, it's not how fast you're running, it's THAT you're running. Some days every step feels like your legs weigh 100lbs, other days you aren't sure your feet touch the ground because you're FLYIN'!0 -
I don't think a 10 min 1.5mi is a slow time at all. That's a 6:40mm pace! But as others said, the more you run the faster you'll get.0

try interval training. go as fast as you can for 30 seconds then normal for a few minutes and sprint for 30 sec etc. after several days your sprint time will increase and then you can make it for longer intervals until you can run 10 minutes at a sprint0

Hill intervals can be good too. Find a hill, run up it as hard as you can, then walk down. Repeat.0

I agree with this!!! Also, make sure that your using your legs to propel you FORWARD, not up....so if you find yourself bouncing more up and down, try to actually use your leg muscles to propel forward...take larger steps...0 -

Aside from what the others have said, do you do any strength training? What about hill running? If you can build strength in your legs you'll get faster by default.0 -
In what world is that a slow pace??? sounds crazy fast to me!0
