Gym routine?

So I am new to MFP and have started going to the gym this week. When I get into the gym cardio is the easy part for me treadmill or stationary bikes. The problem for me is I look over to the other half of the gym and have no idea where to start. What do you reccomend as a beginners weight lifting guide to help burn some extra fat. What works for you for reps and sets?

    I'd suggest setting up a session with a trainer who can set up a program for you based on where you are now and your goals. Helps take the guesswork out of everything, and it's also very important to know how to use the machines properly and have good form so you can avoid injury get best results.
