Calorie confusion!

Okay, so I've notice the scale hasn't really been moving in the past couple of weeks. This sucks, because I'm about 8 pounds from reaching my first goal, but feel like I won't make it!

Anyway, I was posting because I'm a bit confused on calories. I work out about 4 times a week, but don't usually eat my workout calories. This is because I've seen a bunch of people here that have had much success doing this. However, after reading through a few posts, I've seen a group of people who have had a lot of success eating their workout calories. I can barely finish all of my food calories for the day, let alone trying to get work out ones in too.

Does it just differ from person to person? What should I do to bust through this plateau? I changed my workout routine and have even allowed myself a couple of cheat meals and snacks last week. I know this topic has been discussed often, and I apologize for being redundant, but I really don't know what to do...

I know it gets really discouraging. I too was on a plateau for about 2 weeks and then all of the sudden I dropped 3 pounds. Give it a couple more weeks. Also, if you don't eat you exercise calories back just make sure your net calories don't go under 1200.

Good luck and keep up the good work:flowerforyou:

If what you're doing isn't really working, change it. Try eating your exercise calories and see what happens. There are lots of foods that are high in calories (but good for you) that you can eat without stuffing yourself.

A couple tablespoons of peanut butter will take up several calories, a glass of fat free skim milk, some nuts....etc.

I had a salad for lunch that actually could have been more filling, but it was high in calories because of the ounce of cashews I had on it.
