Hi! New here!

Hi! So after failing at Atkin's / low carb.. my friend Leanna sent me here! So first day here. I really like the calorie counter since it helps me keep up with everything and so much is already programmed into it! Anyways, I'm Holly. I"m 24-years-old and weigh 267 (BIG-SIGH). I just had a baby 6 months ago and hormonally I'm all screwed up. I'm also bipolar so when I have mood swings my eating habits change. I may get depressed and binge eat. I'm working on this though! I'm also being weened off a medication that I think is keeping weight on me! I really am hoping this will help. I get very very depressed over my weight. I used to think I was so fat at 230 lbs and I swear I would do anything to be back at that weight again! Anyways, I"m trying to rectify my very sedentary lifestyle by swimming 30 minutes a day. We have an awesome inground pool that is ready for summer!

Anyways, I love to crochet and I work from home doing medical transcriptions. I play lots of PC games (MMOS like World of Warcraft, Star Wars the old republic but right now I'm all up in some diablo 3). Anyways I stay busy with my 6 month old son Rhett so I don't have much time for that fun stuff anymore but he's everything to me! That's partly why I want to lose weight. I want to be healthier and socially I don't want him to be embarassed by a fat mommy or have peers make fun of him or whatever. Anyways that's all for now I think!

Hi there and hello! This is a great first step to your overall goal, and I think it is very admirable that you want to lose weight and be healthy to be the best for your baby and yourself. As a yo-yo dieter in the past, I am now trying to focus on eating real, unprocessed foods as much as possible. I started logging food here and I am blogging about it at www.realfoodquest.com taking pictures so I can actually see what it is I am eating. So far both have been a big help, and I can tell a difference in my cravings after only a short time.

One tip I have is to find your BMR which is the amount of calories you burn when your body is at rest. As long as you are under that number every day on average for your net calories you will lose weight. Maybe slowly, but surely. And we all want the weight to stay off.

Best of luck, and feel free to friend me if you are looking for some help and support on your journey!
