exercise plan help please!

Hi guys! I had a question and I was hoping to get some advise. I would like to start doing 2 things
1: 30 day shred videos
2: walk an hour on the treadmill.
what do you think would be best?
a. do workout video first thing in the morning followed by treadmill (and if so do I eat before after i wake up? or after?)
b. split the two up, one in the morning and one at night?
I plan on working up to running/ jogging.... last time i tried 2 years ago I went to fast and ended up with MAJOR shin splints. So i was thinking of starting the first week 5 days at a 3.0 and each week or so up it... 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 so on and when I am able to handle a brisk walk to start the C25K?

I'm not an expert but I would split up the workouts if you can. I also would only do the treadmill every other day to give your body some rest (or you might get shin splints again). As far as eating goes try it both ways and see what works for you. I can't workout on an empty stomache but some people can't workout with a full stomache.0
